Why do I receive a "Version Registration Number Conflict" message when I try to enter my registration information into the software?

Why do I receive a "Version Registration Number Conflict" message when I try to enter my registration information into the software?

You are receiving the "Version Registration Number Conflict" message because registration information will only work within the same major version for which it was created.  In other words, registration information created for version 4.x products will only work in any 4.x version of the software, regardless of maintenance.  Anytime a new major version of the software is released (i.e. 5.x, 6.x, etc.), you will need to contact our sales department for a new set of registration information which is valid for that version of the software.  Version 5.x and version 6.x are completely separate products and require a different set of registration information.

I purchased a license for an older version of the software.  Will that same license work for the current version?

Licenses will only work within the same major version of the software.  A version 5.x license will work in any 5.x version of the software, but it will not work in version 6.x.  However, you may qualify to purchase an upgrade at a substantial discount.  Please contact our sales department for additional information about purchasing your upgrade.

What is my registration information?

Your registration information consists of your company name (or individual name if it is a personal license) and your DameWare license number.  

When entering this information into the program for software activation, it must be entered exactly as it appears on the registration e-mail you were sent.  This is why we highly suggest you copy and paste this information.

How do I enter my Activation and/or Registration information into the software?

There are some things you need to keep in mind when attempting to register all DameWare Development products.  

1.  Registration information is stored within the Operating System (not within our binary files) and it is stored profile specific.

2.  You must have the correct version of the software installed (4.x, 5.x, 6.x, etc.) in order for your Registration / Activation information to be accepted (regardless of maintenance).

3.  You must have the correct product installed.

4.  Your "license" number is not an Activation Key (i.e. 1234567890123456-78), and cannot be used by itself to register the software.  

5.  If you are running the full DameWare NT Utilities suite, there may be times you must enter your activation information into all three products.  

6.  The registration/activation information must be entered properly into the software.
